01 / The problem
Sourcing, quality and supply needed the same part information.
Sourcing needs a clear requirement and comparable offers. Quality needs inspection evidence against the specification. Supply planning needs a view of demand, supplier capacity and delivery readiness.
When those reviews sit in separate documents, the next team has to rebuild the context. The program is organized around three connected workstreams, with a responsible customer owner for each.
02 / Our solution
One shared part record across three workstreams.
The sourcing workstream connects requirements, should-cost, RFQ preparation, quote comparison and negotiation support. The quality workstream centers on check sheets, specification ranges, pre-dispatch inspection evidence and exceptions.
The planned quality and supply workstreams extend this record to inspection evidence, shortages and supplier capacity against demand. Each specification defines inputs, outputs, approvals and acceptance criteria.
03 / How we did it
Define the work, owners and acceptance criteria.
The program design gives each workstream an accountable engineer and a customer counterpart. The specification makes clear which work the agent performs and which decision stays with the process owner.
Each specification identifies the required inputs, agent tasks, human approvals and evidence needed to accept the work.
Sourcing
Requirements, cost basis, comparable offers and buyer approval.
Supplier quality
Specifications, inspection evidence and exception review.
Supply planning
Demand, capacity, dispatch and shortage questions.
Shared accountability
A named owner and acceptance criteria for every workstream.
04 / What LevelPlane added
Keep the context when responsibility changes.
The design links the sourcing decision to the quality evidence and supply commitments for the same part. Specialist work and open questions stay connected as responsibility moves from one team to another.
05 / Business benefits
Move buyer effort from assembly to review.
Program target · Buyer effort per RFQ
Per RFQ package. Excludes supplier response time.
Business objective
Give buyers more time for supplier evaluation and negotiation, while requirements and open actions stay connected across departments.
The sourcing workflow prepares the RFQ package and cost basis for approval. Quality and supply workstreams extend the same record to inspection evidence, capacity and delivery questions, with an owner for each open action.
